JUST ANNOUNCED - Canada’s Greener Homes GRANT
The Government of Canada is offering a substantial GRANT to eligible homeowners - allowing them to reduce their energy costs, cut pollution and create a healthier future for all Canadians!
What Is The Greener Homes Grant?
Designing your living space to be energy efficient is one of the most valuable actions you can take in protecting your family, your budget and your home! Not only does an environmentally friendly home provide you with lower energy bills and a more efficient approach to operating your AC and heating systems, but it also allows for you to engage in the protection of your home - outside of your walls!
With the Greener Homes Grant, homeowners can receive fund reimbursements totalling $5,600.00 in order to make their homes cooler during the summer and warmer during the winter. They can also start saving on heating and cooling costs for years to come!
Did you know that, according to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), buildings put forth relatively 38% of the carbon dioxide emissions nationwide? This kind of pollution can drastically affect climate change and cause harm to the environment at a global level.
Energy efficient homes are proven to help in the initiative of combating climate change, protecting the environment and reducing these harmful levels of pollution.
At D.G. Brown Construction LTD., we care about providing our homeowners with the necessary means of designing energy efficient homes. By taking advantage of the Greener Home’s Grant, you can make your home both budget and environmentally friendly this year!
Eligible Greener Home Retrofits Provided By D.G. Brown Construction LTD.:
- Home Insulation
- Windows and Doors
Two of the most common ways for your house to leak energy are insufficient insulation (attic, walls, basements and foundations) and inefficient windows. Having your home insulated and/or replacing old windows can save valuable household costs while also keeping your home’s internal temperature properly controlled.
D.G. Brown Construction LTD. is both qualified and certified to help design and implement your energy efficient home renovations! Whether you require insulation, window replacements or door installations, we have the knowledge and experience to get the job done perfectly!
How Do You Apply For the Greener Homes Grant?
You know the value of retrofitting your home with energy efficiency, but how do you begin the process?
1. The First Step To Retrofitting Your Home For Energy Efficiency in 2021:
First, you will need to request a pre-retrofit evaluation from a participating agency. In order to do this, you will need to Login To The Greener Home's Program and find an energy advisory near you
2. Step Two of Applying For Your Greener Home’s Grant:
You will then review the recommendations for your home retrofits and decide which retrofits work best for your budget and plans.
You will then pay for the renovation work upon completion, being sure to keep ALL of your receipts and documents in order to be reimbursed up to the maximum funds allowable ($5,600.00).
3. Step Three of Applying For Your Greener Home’s Grant:
After work is complete, you then arrange for a post-retrofit audit, apply for and receive your reimbursement grant!
Homeowners are not required to make up any portion of the cost up to the maximum grant amount; you will be reimbursed for 100% of the cost of your project up to the $5,600.00 maximum and will not be required to pay any portion or percentage of the cost!
Making the step towards a more energy efficient lifestyle is just that easy!
